245 732 kr collected for Barnekreftforeningen
Thank you to all guests and employees who helped raise money in September.
For the 6th year in a row, Espresso House Norway partnered with the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society to raise money for their important work to fight childhood cancer.
Results of the fundraising campaign 💛
In all our coffee shops in September, guests have the opportunity to donate an optional amount with their order, or buy a gold bow, which is the international symbol for childhood cancer.
A total of NOK 245 732 was collected for the Children's Cancer Society in 2023. In total, Espresso House has raised 2 011 018 in 6 years.
What does the money go to?
The goal of the Children's Cancer Society is that no child should die of cancer.
Around 200 children and young people between the ages of 0 and 18 are affected by cancer every year. The overall survival rate for childhood cancer in Norway is approximately 85 percent.
The purpose of the fundraising campaign is to focus on children and families affected by cancer, to raise funds for the important work of the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society and to highlight the challenges associated with children with cancer.
Research shows that it is a great strain on a family when a child is diagnosed with a serious illness such as cancer. Parents' stress levels increase significantly, and depression and trauma affect the entire family, including healthy siblings.
50% of the money Espresso House raises for the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society will go to research, and 50% will go to the establishment of family centers at the four regional hospitals in Norway: Rikshospitalet in Oslo, Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen, University Hospital of North Norway in Tromsø or St. Olavs Hospital in Trondheim.
Children and young people diagnosed with cancer often experience loneliness and isolation, in addition to the tough treatment. That's why the Norwegian Childhood Cancer Society wants to establish these family centers, and Espresso House wants to help create these meeting places as part of our CupTogether-initiative

#løpformeg / #runforme
«Løp for meg» / «Run for me» "Run for me" is organized by the Children's Cancer Society throughout September and is a low-threshold race for absolutely everyone who wants to participate.
For the third year in a row, Espresso House Norway entered a company team, and throughout September, 35 employees ran together and separately in support of the children's cancer cause.
In addition to motivating each other to be active and get fresh air, we helped to raise awareness for the Children's Cancer Society. And we managed to run a total of 2378 km, which we are of course very proud of :)
